The online Certificate IV in Cyber Security equips you with practical skills and knowledge to excel in a technical support role within a cyber security operations center. It serves as an excellent entry point for those interested in pursuing a career in cybersecurity. By completing this program, you’ll acquire the knowledge and technical skills necessary to monitor the risk of cyber security attacks, implement appropriate software, employ a range of tools and procedures to mitigate cyber security threats, safeguard organizations from insider security breaches, and design systems to minimize network vulnerabilities and risks.

Prerequisite & Entry Criteria

Education

Applicants must have successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent or be of mature age. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Holmesglen also requires that all applicants possess the following abilities:

  • Turn on a computer.
  • Connect to the internet.
  • Use a mouse, keyboard, headset with a microphone or speakers, and a webcam.
  • Open and close a software application.
  • Conduct a search in a web browser.
  • Use webinar software to participate in remote learning.

Resources Required

Applicants intending to learn remotely will require access to a PC computer or laptop with the following minimum specifications:

  • Quad-Core CPU
  • 16GB of RAM
  • CPU with a minimum 2 GHz processor or faster
  • 250GB of storage
  • Windows 10 OS, or virtual machine installed with Windows 10 OS (available free from
  • Headset with microphone (webcam optional but preferred)
  • Access to an internet connection

Prior to enrolment or commencement of training, you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a Pre-Training Review interview. These will assist with determining your suitability for the course, verify your training plan and identify any learning support needs.
